Wayland group working to expand business involvement
WAYLAND - Wayland Area Revitalization hosted its annual meeting Jan. 31.
Members of the community as well as business owners were on hand to discuss plans for 2013.
WAR is looking to get business owners together for a community meeting to get them involved in plans to help the community grow.
“No one knows where Wayland is,” WAR President Marian Crawford said. “We need other people to get involved.”
The BOCES program will make metal sculptures to auction off in June. Proceeds from the auction will benefit the Vincent House.
The committee has made this year’s main project the development of Point Property at the intersection of North Main Street and Lackawanna Street.
Plans for the development of the Point will be discussed at future meetings.
“It has to be done,” said Crawford. “WAR supports this 100 percent.”
