Saturday is the nationwide effort to get customers of big banks to move to community banks or credit unions. The day is part of the Move Your Money and Bank Transfer Day movements, which arose in protest of bank fees such as Bank of America’s debit-fee plan (which has since been toned down). According to reports, at least 650,000 people have already moved their accounts.
