Authorities say three travelers from Virginia are among the five people hospitalized after a two-car crash on a rural western New York road.

State police say 51-year-old Kyong McFadden of Williamsburg, Va., was driving on Route 63 around 5:30 p.m. Wednesday when she crossed into oncoming traffic and collided head-on with another vehicle in the Livingston County town of Geneseo (jen-uh-SEE’-oh), 25 miles south of Rochester.

Troopers say McFadden and the other driver, a 61-year-old woman from Dansville, were both taken to Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester.

Police say the other driver’s 69-year-old husband and two Williamsburg residents riding in McFadden’s car, ages 64 and 65, were taken to the same Rochester hospital.

Officials didn’t have information on any of their conditions.

The cause of the crash is being investigated.
