Kingston, NY – The Ulster County Workforce Investment Board (WIB) Youth Council is sponsoring the 5th Annual Youth Job Fair on Tuesday, March 26, 2013 at the Ulster Works OneStop Center (651 Development Court – Ulster Avenue) in Kingston from 9 am to 11 am.  Local businesses participating in the Job Fair are ready to interview and hire youth for full and part time openings.  Kingston youth and all youth who want to work in the Kingston area --ages 16 to 21-- are invited to participate.

“The Youth Job Fair is a great opportunity for our young people to learn about immediate employment opportunities.  Jobs help young people learn vital skills and gain hands-on experience that will better prepare them for a successful future,” said Ulster County Executive Mike Hein. “The Job Fair is also a great asset to our local employers who are seeking entry level workers.  It is the perfect way for them to find the employees needed to build their businesses.”

The Kingston Job Fair is a collaborative effort of youth-serving agencies that participate as the WIB Youth Council, including:    ACCES-VR, Boys & Girls Club of Kingston, Family of Woodstock, Liberty Partnership, the Ulster County Youth Bureau, Ulster BOCES, Ulster County Office of Employment and Training, Ulster Works OneStop Center, Ulster-Greene ARC and Family of Woodstock, Ulster County Sheriff’s Office, Gateway Community Industries, the Probation Department, YMCA Youth Build, Job Corps and Children’s Home of Kingston.    Youth attending the Job Fair are required to be   “interview ready.” This assures the local businesses that the youth are prepared interviewees.
