At the New York State Association of County Treasurers and Finance Officers meeting on May 6, in Syracuse, Livingston County Treasurer Carolyn Taylor was named Finance Officer of the Year.
Taylor, the County’s Chief Financial Officer, has served as Livingston County’s Treasurer since first being elected in 2000. She holds a degree from SUNY Geneseo and has been a resident of Livingston County for many years.
Some of her accomplishments as treasurer are; maximizing interest income on the County’s investments; assisting in the modernization of the tax foreclosure auction process; producing a property tax guide for residents; and providing property tax information over the Internet.
In her tenure as the County’s chief financial officer, the County has received two bond rating upgrades from both major rating agencies.

It is a privilege to work with a network of financial individuals who reach out to share ideas and provide support for each other,” said Taylor.  “I am honored to be selected by my peers for this award.”
