The board at Noyes provided the following statement Monday regarding Whissler's resignation:

To the Noyes Hospital Community:

On Friday, January 14, 2011, Noyes CEO and President James Wissler announced his intention to resign from his position as CEO and President of the Hospital effective March 1, 2011.  The Hospital Board has accepted his request.  In order to maintain continuity, the Board has asked Jim to assist with a number of special projects until October of this year.

For 13 years Jim has served Noyes and our community with great distinction.  He has always kept our mission of improving the health of our community at the forefront of his efforts.  His hard work and determination in running our community's Hospital have served us well.  He has led the efforts to improve access to care in Livingston County through two new facilities in Geneseo: Livingston Health Services and the Noyes Kidney Disease and Dialysis Center in Partnership with Livingston County.  He also led the efforts to build a state of the art intensive care unit and operating rooms at the Hospital in Dansville, as well as the Noyes Family Birthing Center.

As a community leader he has made important contributions as Chair of the Livingston County Chamber of Commerce, Chair of the United Way Campaign, Chair of the Rochester Regional Hospital Association, member of the Finger Lakes Health Services Agency 2020 Commission and Regional Work Group, member of the Community Technology Assessment Advisory Board, Chair of Genesee Valley Health Partnership, Chair of Access to Healthcare Committee, and member of Snell Farms Board.

Having served with Jim on the Hospital Board over the past 10 years, I am deeply grateful for his friendship, thoughtfulness, hard work, and dedication to Noyes.  I wish him well as he moves to a new phase in his career.

John M. Lockhart, Esq.
Noyes Board Chair
