SWAIN — The Seventh Annual Western New York Bowhunting Festival at Swain Resort is set for a three-day extravaganza the weekend of Aug. 26-28.
The Bowhunting Festival features activities for archers of all types, uniquely situated on over 100-plus wooded acres at Swain Resort. The festival offers attendees a wide variety of educational and participatory experiences, including Compound Archery, Traditional Archery, Trapping, Tracking and more.
This is the first year the event has expanded to a full three days. The festival will from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 26. The action on Saturday, Aug. 27 will begin at 10 a.m. and run through 8 p.m. The festival wraps up Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Activities include: four 3D Archery Courses, two Shooting Ranges, a Kids Course, Balloon Shoot, Archery Competition, Treestand Shootout, guest speakers along with vendors and dealers.
Shooting Rates: $30 for Three Day Pass, $25 for Saturday and Sunday Pass, $15 for Friday Only, $20 for Saturday Only, $15 for Sunday Only.
Kids 12 and under enter and shoot for free! (adult supervision required). Spectators for the event who don’t shoot are also free again the year.
Vendors include Barrett’s Bowhunting, Bowhook Slings, Whitetail Plots USA, Smitty’s Stretchers & Trapping Supplies, Elite Archery, New York Bowhunters, Buckit Brand, Pacific Mountain Farm, National Archery in the Schools Program, Allegheny County Pheasant Program, Pink Zebra, Nunda Mustard, Once Again Nut Butter, Ol’ Tin Cup Habitat Restoration & Enhancement, and Foxy’s Knives.
