DANSVILLE — Margaret Jacobs, 98, passed away peacefully Wednesday, December 12, 2018 at the Vincent House in Wayland.

Margaret was born December 23, 1919 in Mt. Morris, a daughter of Craig & Amelia (Longneff) Russell. She was a former supervisor for the Instructor Publicator in Dansville. She was predeceased by her husband of 65 years, Raymond H. Jacobs, in 2002. In addition to her parents and husband, she was also predeceased by a grandson, Jason Jacobs in 2017.

Margaret was a former member of the Sparta Home Bureau. She enjoyed crocheting, crossword puzzles, reading, watching “Wheel of Fortune” and the New York Yankees and her cat “Jake,” but most of all she loved spending time with her family and friends.

Margaret is survived by her children, John “Jack” (Mary Jo) Jacobs, Katheryn Jacobs, Jerry Jacobs (Marie Burley) andd Laurie Wawatie; 13 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; two great-great-grandsons; a brother-in-law, Richard “Bud” Hamilton; two sisters-in-law, Erma Jacobs and Angie Jacobs; many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Friends called 1-2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 16 at the Chamberlin – Baird Funeral Home, 73 Main St., Dansville, where a memorial service was held at 2 p.m. Burial was at 10 a.m. Monday at Greenmount Cemetery, Dansville.
