ARKPORT — Raymond Loh, 67, of Arkport, NY, died Friday morning (November 16, 2018) at Baptist Clay Hospital in Fleming Island, FL following a brief illness.

Born in New York, NY on December 31, 1950, he was the son of Huan Swee and Nelly Loh. He resided in Forest Hills, NY for many years followed by most of his adult years as a resident of central NYS, in the towns of Arkport, Hornell, Wellsville, and Canisteo.

Raymond had been employed as a Substance Abuse Counselor/Clinical Supervisor at the Casa Trinity of Livingston and Catholic Charities prior to his death and previously worked at Mercy Care Addiction Treatment Center of Hornell (M.A.T.C.H.) and Loyola In-Patient Program. He was an avid motorcyclist, yoga instructor, and Reiki practitioner. He was known for his love of Buddhas and anything including his lucky number 8.

He was preceded in death by his father, Huan Swee Loh, who died on October 11, 1985; his mother, Nelly Loh, who died on August 12, 2016, and his sister, Ethel Strickarz who died July 23, 2014.

Survived by his sister, Eileen (Leon) Fontier of Penn Yan; his brother-in-law, David Strickarz of Arkport; his daughters, Jennifer (Christopher) Otero of Fleming Island, FL and Vanessa Hollinger of Kaaawa, HI; five grandchildren, Alexis McMinn, Neal Mars III, Maya Smith, Kaila Smith, and Colton Otero; 2 great-grandchildren, Talon McMinn and Jason McMinn Jr; his nephews Daemien Friedman and Malcolm (Gabrielle) Fontier; his niece Alice (Gretchen) Fontier, and his great niece Kathryn (Chris) Fitzpatrick.
