Dansville ArtWorks will reduce its physical space to an arts headquarters June 1

DANSVILLE — Dansville ArtWorks is moving forward with a reorganization which includes expansion of community partnerships in the arts to revitalize the economy, and a reduction in its physical space.

“We believe that this change in delivery model will allow the organization to continue to meet its mission, maximize resources, and enhance the ability to sustain other businesses in and around Dansville,” stated the organization.

Effective June 1, Dansville ArtWorks will reduce its physical space to an arts “headquarters” where programs and services will be coordinated by volunteers and Board members.

To facilitate arts opportunities in the community and help boost the local economy, Dansville ArtWorks will partner with local businesses (when it is safe and appropriate to do so) in sponsoring programs and activities like:

- Monthly artist networking mixers (various locations)

- Monthly open mic nights

- Foreign Film series

- Writing group series (various locations)

- Pop up art exhibits throughout the year (various locations)

Other offerings to support artists and businesses in the community under consideration include:

- Art curation/rental for offices and businesses

- Online store opportunities

Also, Dansville ArtWorks will continue to sponsor programs and host events such as Chalk Walk, Fairy Doors of Dansville, Fairy Fest, and workshops throughout the year.
