DANSVILLE — ABBA fans, listen up.

This is your chance to relive the good old days of platform shoes and polyester leisure suits. Dansville Drama Club is presenting Mamma Mia, a Broadway musical set entirely to ABBA songs.

The story is about a girl, Sophie, who is searching for her real father so he can walk her down the aisle for her upcoming wedding.

Though most of the students’ parents were born about the time ABBA was at its height, many of the students say they love performing the old songs, and many had already been familiar with ABBA’s music, or have seen the musical before.

“All the songs are really heartfelt,” Sydney Martin, who plays Donna, said.

“There’s not one boring song,” Emma Ognen, who plays Sophie, said.

Students said this has also been the most intensely choreographed, most-costumed and most-propped musical that they have ever done.

“I feel that each of us have at least six or seven costume changes,” Emily Porter, who plays Tanya, said.

Senior students also said that this is certainly a great choice for their farewell performance.

“We’re going out with a bang,” Sydney Martin said.

Mamma Mia is set to take the stage March 12 through 14 at 7 p.m. in the Dansville High School auditorium. Cost for tickets is $10 for adults, $8 for seniors and students.
