DANSVILLE — On Saturday, CASA-Trinity will host the Run4Recovery Color Run/Walk in Dansville as part of National Recovery Month.
Recovery Month is an annual celebration observed each September. Local organizations have sponsored this event to support people in their own communities who have made the decision to begin the process of recovery.
The run/walk will start at 9:30 a.m. from the CASA-Trinity Outpatient & Residential Clinic, located at 45 Maple Street in Dansville. About 140 participants are currently registered, and several of community partners will be present to celebrate recovery. A group color toss will occur at 9:30 a.m. to kick off the event.
This event aims to remove the stigma associated with addiction, to increase awareness and understanding within the community of substance use and mental health disorders; while promoting the message that prevention works, treatment is available, and people can and do recover.
