Cheerleading squad will attend multiple competitions

DANSVILLE — Many people keep a sharp eye out on the field during football season for what's going on out there. But on the sidelines there's some work being done that lifts the spirits and the roars of the festive crowd on Friday night.

The Dansville Fall Cheerleading squad is solely responsible for this phenomenon that permeates the people in the stands, gets them to do "the wave" and other fun stuff. This year's Mustang cheer team will be coached by Charlene Bennett as a dozen will don the red & black to raise the decibel levels for the Dansville side this season. Char has a nice blend of talent from three high school grade levels heading into this season.

The squad sizes up this way, seniors Emily Porter, Devon Peaty and Rose Miller, juniors Jaden Lefever, Emma Masten, Tiana Rowley, Skylar Hinrich and Cami Cafferelli and freshmen Hailey Miller, Kylie McDonald, Mackenzie Schledorn and Trinity Cartwright.

This year coach Char noted that the Mustangs will attend cheerleading competitions on Oct. 12 at Mercy High School in Rochester, the Livingston County League cheer-off will be hosted by Dansville on Tuesday, Oct. 15th, and that will be followed by the Section V Competition on Saturday, Oct. 26th.

Coach Bennett noted, "We're all very excited for the start of the season and we're greatly looking forward for another great season."
