DANSVILLE — The Dansville Senior team beat Wayland 36-0 Saturday night under the lights at Ralph Clements Field.

Coach Bob Sick noted, "It was a tremendous effort from our Mustang defense holding Wayland to negative offensive yards."

The Mustangs were led by Quinn Dixon with 17 tackles, 1 forced fumble and 1 fumble recovery. Clayton Rigdon recorded 14 tackles, 2 forced fumbles and 1 fumble recovery. Cody Moran had 10 tackles. Brady Henchen posted 8 tackles and Peter Caldwell had 6 tackles.

Offensively Dansville scored on their opening possession with Cody Moran running in a 47 yard touchdown. Brady Henchen made the extra point. Early in the second quarter following a 30 yard run by Clayton Rigdon, Quinn Dixon rushed in a 1 yard touchdown. Peter Caldwell rushed in the extra point conversion. To close out the half Aiden VanAuken slammed in a 5 yard score with Brady Henchen again making the extra point field goal. To end the third quarter Aiden VanAuken powered in for another 1 yard touchdown. With a defensive stop on the 1 yard line, Brady Henchen ran in the final score to finish the game.

Sick added, "It was a great execution of our plan for the whole team as it is always fun to start the season against our Wayland-Cohocton neighbors."

Dansville visits Warsaw on Sunday (Sept. 1) afternoon in Labor Day Weekend CYFL action.

For Wayland-Cohocton's Jr. Eagles, Dawsyn Collins had 2 tackles and 15 rushing yards. Jaxin Eddy had 2 rushing yards. Cole Hanggi and Preston Aldrich each had 5 rushing yards. Ean Gaylord had 5 tackles and 1 forced fumble. Kameren Lantz had 4 tackles. Garrett Johnson, Ricky VanCuren and Xavier Taylor had 2 tackles. Owen Roberts, Thomas Schafer and Adrian Burr had 1.


Dansville 26, Wayland-Cohocton 6

DANSVILLE — The Dansville Junior Mustangs hosted Wayland-Cohocton under the lights at Ralph Clements Field in the CYFL opener on Saturday (Aug. 24) night. Coach Ron Cartwright's club came away with a hard fought 26-6 victory as the 2019 campaign commenced.

Alex Madison powered Dansville with 108 yards, a touchdown and had a 35 yard punt return on special teams while making 9 tackles, 1 for a loss. Nathan Forrester had 82 yards, 3 TDs and a PAT conversion. Tyler Caldwell had 76 yards rushing and made 3 tackles. Lucas Mosko had 26 yards, 4 tackles and a sack. Connor Gardner had 5 yards and 2 tackles. Karter Palma had 5 yards and 3 tackles. Karson Calvert added 2 yards and 4 tackles.

Also defensively: Jackson Porter 4 tackles (1 for a loss), Jayce Peaty 2 tackles, Joshua Forrester 1 tackle, Mason Forrester 1 tackle for a loss, Elijah Jennings 1 tackle, Carter Sylor 4 tackles (2 for a loss), Robbie Mosko 2 tackles, Chance Walker 1 tackle, 1 for a loss and a fumble recovery.

For Wayland-Cohocton, Matthew Harvey led the way with 9 tackles, 51 rushing yards, 1 tackle for loss and 1 fumble recovery. Ethan Bauer had 6 tackles, 35 rushing yards, and 1 touchdown. Garrett Mehlenbacher had 3 tackles, 10 rushing yards and 1 tackle for loss. John Drum had an interception. Isaak Taylor had 2 tackles and 10 rushing yards. Cole Johnson had 2 tackles, with 1 tackle for loss. Xander Cartella and Justin Lane Jr. had 3 tackles. Logan Hally and John VanCuren Jr. had 2 tackles. Korbut Wright and Micah Hayes had 1 tackle.


Wayland-Cohocton takes on Dansville

DANSVILLE — The Wayland-Cohocton Flag football team trekked to rival Dansville to tangle with the Mustangs at Ralph Clements Field on Saturday afternoon (Aug. 24).

Coach Jeremy Pifer totaled up these numbers on the Eagles side of things following a fine performance from his young team in the opener. Dominick Pifer had 6 tackles, 1 interception and 4 touchdowns. Kade Johnson scored 1 touchdown. Niko Infantino had 2 tackles. Damien McCart had 2 tackles and a touchdown. Brentley Polmanteer had 4 tackles. Cameron McCaslin had 1 tackle.
