NAPLES — Bristol Valley Theater, the Finger Lakes' award-winning live professional theater, will continue its 2019 summer season with world premier musical, The King’s Legacy.
Written by Honeyoye Fall native Michael Radi, The King’s Legacy will be the first New Works Initiative musical. The story details King Henry VIII’s obsessive quest for a male heir, including palace plots, confrontations with the pope, and court drama. Told from the perspective of his six wives, this thrilling journey sets historical intrigue to catchy, vibrant music.
Radi has been developing the script for The King’s Legacy since 2013. Selections from the musical have also been performed in Songwriters’ Showcase at Playlight Theatre in NYC and at Feinstein’s/54 Below.
“It means so much to me to bring this play to life at BVT,” says Radi. “There is no place like Bristol Valley. It’s been a long, six-year journey, but I’m finally getting to bring the show home.”
Performances run Aug. 22-Sept. 1 at Bristol Valley Theater, 151 S. Main Street in Naples. Evening shows will take place Aug. 22-24, and Aug. 29-31. Matinees occur Aug. 25, Aug. 28-29, and Sept. 1. Ticket prices are $35 for adults, $33 for seniors, and $27 for groups of 15 or more. For reservations and further information, call the box office at 585-374-6318 or visit www.bvtnaples.org.
