CANISTEO — Canisteo-Greenwood board members this week elected Michael L. Nisbet president and Marcy Bradley vice president for the 2019-20 school year.

The board also named Christine Taggert district clerk and Kyle Hosmer district treasurer for the school year.

In addition, Heather Cox was sworn in as a board member.

Other board appointments included Hogan, Sarzynski, Lynch, DeWind and Gregory, legal counsel; Timothy R. McGill, bond counsel; Bernard P. Donegan, financial advisor; Theresa McKenna, purchasing agent, and Tompkins Seneca Tioga Board of Cooperative Educational Services, internal auditors.

The board authorized Superintendent Thomas Crook as the district representative of all federal projects and funds plus applicant for state and federal grants in aid and voting member of the Steuben Area Schools Employment Benefit Plan. McKenna was also named alternate voting member of the plan.

Board members also approved Citizen Bank, JPMorgan Chase Bank, Five Star and Steuben Trust as official bank depositories.

The board also renewed Canisteo-Greenwood participation in the National School Lunch and Breakfast programs into the 2019-20 fiscal year.

Board members also established May 11, 20020 as the date for the budget hearing and May 19, 2020 as the date for the annual tax levy vote and board of education election from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.

The board also approved the Samantha Peters Memorial Scholarship of $500 annually and accepted a CVSEF grant of $2,100.

Board members also approved tenure for the following, effective Aug. 30, 2019: Ashley Boccia, Rebecca Button and Emily Schultheis, special education teachers; Nicole Dineen, elementary teacher; Jonathon Amidon, social studies teacher; and Jacquelyn Bosworth, speech pathologist.

The board also approved tenure appointment for Alison Valentine, school counselor.
