WAYLAND —  A Wayland woman faces felony charges in relation to an alleged larceny of Department of Social Services resources.

Steuben County Sheriff Jim Allard reports that on April 30, deputies of the Steuben County Sheriff’s office arrested Kim C. Raup, 59, of Washington St., Wayland.

It is alleged that in March 2015 Raup provided false information to the Steuben County Department of Social Services. It is also alleged that in July 2016 Raup offered a written instrument to the Steuben County Department of Social Services knowing it contained false information, resulting in Raup receiving benefits that she was not eligible to receive.

Raup was charged with one count of first-degree offering a false instrument for filing, one count of first-degree falsifying business records, both class-E felonies, and one count of third-degree grand larceny, a class-D felony. She was processed at the Steuben County Sheriff’s Office and held for centralized arraignment at the Steuben County Jail.

The Steuben County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Steuben County Department of Social Services, and the District Attorney’s Office.
