AVON — Lattimore Physical Therapy has expanded its Geneseo location to a bigger building with brand new equipment.

Lattimore Physical Therapy in Geneseo will be located at 4 E. South Main Street. The soft opening for this state-of-the-art clinic is April 1.

Leslie Summers, Lattimore Physical Therapy Avon co-clinical director, has been working at the Avon facility for 13 years.

“We are going to have a lot more space, better parking for our patients, and brand new equipment,” she said.

Lattimore Physical Therapy got its humble beginnings when a married couple opened the first location in 1992. John and Cindy Shuman were a physical therapy team who wanted the best for their patients. Since that time they have opened 25 locations in four different counties. This facility is private owned by several physical therapists, and offers a family-friendly atmosphere that enhances the fitness experience.

They have won Best of the Best Physical Therapy First Place for Reader’s Choice Awards six years, and for the first time won Best of the Best Gym and Fitness Second Place in Reader’s Choice this year.

“We want our patients to be treated well,” Summers said. “Our clinics have a very warm and friendly atmosphere. We are conscious of what our patients really need, and offer them the time they need for treatment. These are just a few things that make us unique.”

Summers added that physical therapy encompasses so many different aspects of health and wellness. Lattimore Physical Therapy can help with migraines, vertigo, sports related injuries, after surgery conditions, and much more.

Lattimore Physical Therapy offers the M.O.G (Medically Oriented Gym) program as well. The M.O.G. is a fitness club wholly integrated with an independent physical therapy practice. Its mission is to provide fitness services to not only the healthy motivated population, but also provide a fitness opportunity to medically compromised members of the community.

“We want all of our patients to get the best care possible,” Summers said.

Summers added, “We always care about our patients, and they stay a part of our family even after they graduate from PT. We want them to know if they ever have a flare-up or have questions they can contact us anytime.”

Summers started out as a volunteer at the Lattimore of Geneseo clinic under the mentorship of Mario Melidona co-founder of the Geneseo office. She returned to Lattimore and has worked for them since 2006. She is currently the Co-Clinical Director of Lattimore of Avon with Jon Gerenski PT.

Dansville is one of the biggest and most successful clinics out of the 25 locations in four different counties. It offers a lot of health and wellness treatment close to several small towns.
