DANSVILLE — Dansville ArtWorks will host its fourth Annual Juried Photography Exhibit at at 153 Main Street, Dansville, NY March 1 through April 26. The open-themed exhibit is highly popular and historically draws from a wealth of regional talent, both professional and amateur.
For this exhibit, Dansville ArtWorks is pleased to announce the Juror, Bob Oswald.
Bob Oswald’s love of all things natural and photography range back over 50 years when he received a camera and a bird identification book for Christmas. Working for 30 years at Eastman Kodak in the Quality Assurance division, he expanded his knowledge of exposure and processing and was able to carry over that learning into the digital age. Bob has shared his knowledge as a 4-H photography club leader. He has acted as a judge for the Cooperative Extension in Livingston and Cayuga Counties and for a number of years at the New York State Fair. Bob has won numerous awards for his photography, including the 2016 Judges Award for macro photography in the coveted North American Nature Photographers Annual salon. Bob’s images have appeared in numerous regional and national travel publications.
Three photographers will be designated best of show by the juror and receive cash prizes in the amounts of $100, $50 and $25 at the opening reception, Friday, March 1, 5-7 p.m. An additional People’s Choice Award, a $25 gift certificate, will be given based on visitor votes during the opening reception. The reception and exhibit are free and open to the public. The community arts center is open Thursday and Friday 12-6pm and Saturday 10am-2pm.
