DANSVILLE — A Dansville resident awoke to her vehicle missing from the driveway.

Laurie Travis and Gary Schirmer reside in the quiet area of the village on Perine Street. Their White F250 1994 Ford pickup was stolen from the driveway around 8:30 a.m. on Dec. 29. It not only was their way to get back and forth to work, but it had Schirmer's expensive tools in the back.

"I want to make the town aware, so this doesn't happen to someone else," Travis said. "I want everyone to make sure they keep their doors locked."

Dansville Police Department was notified about the incident.

Travis said she was on her way to work when she noticed the truck was missing at 9 a.m The neighbors saw her truck there at 8 a.m. No one saw who took the truck between 8 a.m. and 9 a.m. on Dec. 29.

The masonry tools range in the thousands, and one included a $3,000 concrete saw.

"Someone was scamming to steal our tools and truck," she said. "I hope it is found soon, and in one piece."

As of now a friend is allowing them to use their vehicle for work, but the tools are needed back urgently for Schirmer's business.
