WAYLAND — The Wayland Rotary Club displayed the spirit of the season, ending the year with donations for two organizations.

All of the proceeds from Christmas in Wayland went to Coats For Kids and Little House on Dec. 18.

Wayland-Cohocton Central comes together for about 100 children in need all year long. The money from this event will help get the supplies they need for these students.

Little House President Susan Hart and Little House Vice-President Bonnie Kirkum were very grateful for the donation as well. They will use the money to get new tables and chairs for the building.

“We had a lot of locals help us fix the furnace a few months ago,” Kirkum said. “We will eventually have to work on replacing the roof.”

Right now there are about 85 boys and girls who rely on Little House for Wayland Boy Scouts and Wayland Girl Scouts.

Little House is always looking for new members and more volunteers for events.
