DANSVILLE — Charles H. Drum, 87, passed away peacefully Saturday, Dec. 1, 2018 at the Bath VA Medical Center.
Charles was born January 12, 1931 in Cohocton, a son of Alvin & Martha (Sick) Drum. He was a graduate of Wayland Central School and was a US Army veteran, serving from 1955 to 1961. He married Dorothy Weigand on April 25, 1959; she survives.
He was a plumber in Dansville for 50 years, owning Drum Plumbing & Heating, Inc for 38 of those years.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing and working in his garden, but most of all he loved spending time with his family and friends.
Charles is survived by his wife of 59 years, Dorothy; his children, Diane Drum & Don (Lori) Drum; his sisters, Dorothy Hurlburt, Edna Marino, Jane (Ron) Rasmussen, Alice (Roger) Colegrove, Irene (Dean) Kiefer, Helen (Bob) Rasmussen; his brothers, Ernie (Jean Ann) Drum, Walt Drum (Vicki Hunt); sister-in-law, Betsy Hubbard; many nieces, nephews & cousins.
Per the family’s request, there will be no calling hours. A private graveside service with full military honors will be held in the Canaseraga Cemetery. Arrangements are with the Chamberlin-Baird Funeral Home, 73 Main St., Dansville, NY 14437.
