DANSVILLE — It is that time of year again when the sky is filled with colorful hot air balloons, and the community gets to soar into the clouds.


This is the 37th Annual NYS Festival of Balloons from Aug. 30 to Sept. 3. It kicks off with the Dansville Balloon Glow at Brae Burn at 7 p.m. The rest of the festival takes place at the Dansville Municipal Airport from Aug. 31 to Sept. 3. There will be many other events built up around the festival throughout the community. The Dansville Area Historical Society is holding an open house from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sept. 1. The Dansville ArtWorks is holding a juried art show from 10 a.m. to noon on Sept. 1.


New this year is the Nature Nick’s Animal Adventures from 1 to 7 p.m. on Sept. 1. And 1 to 7 p.m. on Sept. 2. Right from New York: Nature Nick’s Animal Adventures is a fast-paced educational wildlife show. You’ll be enraptured with delight as you see a 10foot- long python or when a Eurasian Eagle owl stenches out his six wingspan! All Show’s feature 5-6 trained exotic animals including, but not limited to: owls, falcons, snakes, alligators, foxes, armadillos, turtles, and even a Chilean flamingo! “Nature” Nick (TV personality, author, & professional animal trainer personally presents all shows himself) Show also includes a meet & greet following the show where audience members can interact and have their photos taken.


Nature Nick and his animals have been featured on: The Martha Stewart Show, Fox & Friends, Good Day New York, Good Morning America, and The Today Show! With a main location in New York and a satellite location in Southern Florida we can easily accommodate most venues throughout the country.


There is a paragliding flight at 5 p.m. on Sept. 1.


Of course the main attraction are the balloon rides that if weather permits will launch Aug. 31 at 6 p.m., Sept. 1 at 6 a.m. and 6 p.m., Sept. 2 at 6 a.m. and 6 p.m. and Sept. 3 at 6 a.m.
