SWAIN — Swain Ski Resort is gearing up to open for the season this Saturday and Sunday, according to marketing director Erich Dobson.
They have been and will be making more snow and "it looks like it is going to be a great season," Dobson said.
Between five and eight of the 33 available trails will be open — Wheels, Upper and Lower Robinson, Lower Brewer and Round Top, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Lift tickets will be $35 or just $25 if you donate a can of food. The food goes to the Dansville area Food Bank.
From 6 to 11 p.m. Saturday there will also be snowmobile racing.
Swain offers a variety of opportunities including snow boarding, tubing and racing.
Group ski lessons will start on Dec. 26.
Swain will not be open on Christmas Day, however on Christmas Eve it will be open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and any student in grade school, middle school, high school or college will ski free. College students must have ID.
