WAYLAND — The Dansville Home Video is completely empty now.

The Wayland Home Video will be available to Dansville residents if they purchase a new rental card.

Wayland Food Mart Manager Bambi Weber is in charge of the grocery, gas, video, and liquor part of the one-stop-store.

“We had to do something to appease our company,” she said. “There are so many options out there for people to get a movie.”

The entire Dansville Home Video inventory has been transferred to the Wayland one. This means more options, and a better opportunity to rent that new release you have your eyes on.

Weber added the video rental stores have been in a serious decline over many years, since Netflix, Redbox, and iTunes make everything easy access from your phone or computer.

“The times are changing,” Weber said. “We are seeing a huge difference in rentals.”

Weber mentioned this is why the Dansville Home Video is no more. The company wanted to make things more convenient for the customer.

“When you make a trip to the grocery store it is convenient for the customer to be able to rent a video as well,” she said. “People can buy groceries, gas, and rent a movie at the same store.”

Another thing that is convenient is that the store allows credit cards, if the customer wants to rent a movie with a credit card they must purchase or rent it at the grocery side.

Wayland Home Video is open Monday through Thursday noon to 8 p.m. and Friday, Saturday, and Sunday 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. They are located at 2643 Route 21N and can be reached at 585-728-2821.
