SPRINGWATER — A Wayland man was charged with felony driving while intoxicated Monday after his vehicle reportedly struck a parked vehicle on Mill Street, which then struck a pedestrian.

Livingston County Sheriff Thomas J. Dougherty said today that his office received a 911 call at 5:25 p.m. Monday regarding a two-car motor vehicle accident. The driver of the vehicle which caused the accident was Mark L. Clark, 53. He was allegedly driving while intoxicated.

Clark had previous convictions relating to Driving While Intoxicated, making this a felony. He was also charged with second-degree reckless endangerment as well as numerous other vehicle and traffic law violations.

Clark who reportedly refused the chemical breath test, was arraigned in Groveland Town Court. He was sent to the county jail in lieu of $10,000 bail or $20,000 bond. Clark is scheduled to appear Wednesday in Springwater Town Court.

Both the pedestrian and the occupant of the other vehicle struck, who were not identified, were taken to Nicholas H. Noyes Memorial Hospital in Dansville as a precaution. No life-threatening injuries were reported.

The investigation and arrest were handled by Deputies Caleb Cutting and Brandan Flickner.
