Wayland,N.Y— Malcolm Robert “Bob” Mykel, age 71, passed away peacefully, Wednesday, September 4, 2013 at his home.

Bob was born October 20, 1941 in Poland, NY a son of Malcolm F. and Joyce (Crabbe) Mykel. Bob was a veteran of the US Army, serving from 1962 to 1965. Bob worked for a variety of companies throughout the years and retired from Hitchiner Mfg. in Milford, NH in 2005. Bob married Carol Lawrence on February 11, 1984; she survives. In addition to his parents, Bob was also predeceased by a brother, David Mykel.

Bob was a member of the Wayland American Legion Post # 402.

At Bob’s request, there will be no public calling hours or funeral services. Private services were held Saturday at his home.

Bob is survived by his wife, Carol; his children and stepchildren, Miles (Heather) Mykel, Dawn (Fred Peck) Guarascio, Robert (Stacy) Mykel, Dorothy (Sean) Darby, Larry (Katrece) Duel III; grandchildren, John Guarascio, Daniel Peck, Gabryiel Mykel, Addison Mykel, Karina (Adam) Towne, Holly (Rory) Brackett, Scotti (James Scarborough) Bowen; great grandchildren, Makenzie Towne, Camdyn Towne, Kyla Brackett, Sullivan Scarborough; brother and sisters, Joan (Eloy) Buzek, Leslie “Red” Mykel, Carol (Ron Serviss) Chapman; mother-in-law, Anna Lawrence; sisters–in–law and brothers-in-law, Anne Cisco, Dianne (Ted) McGilvray, Rev. Pat Shafer, Linda (Ronald) Sahrle, Mary Walker, Roberta Smith, Debra (Rodney) Wehnau, Laurie Lawrence, Beth (Henry) Shaw, Robert (Tina) Lawrence, William (Stephanie) Lawrence; many nieces, nephews and cousins.
