January was filled with three events celebrating the Bicentennial of Lexington, NY. February will offer just as much. We kick of the celebrating for this month on February 2, 2013. "PATCHWORKS" will take place again at The Community Hall in west Kill, NY.This month our feature Artist of the Month is Lydia Piaseckyj, who will have her religious icons on display. Be sure to stop by the Ukrainian Booth to learn about their colorful traditions, and listen to how the Ukrainian community began and about the building of the St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Church. You can also visit the History of Churches Booth and find out all about the many churches in the area .
We have asked people to bring by a handed down family recipe to share with us in our 2013 cook book. At the genealogy Booth learn about the family histories of Deyoe and Pettit families.

This month our Feature event will be "A Night on Broadway with Michael Berkeley." Michael is a former resident of Lexington, NY, who periodically returns to give performances. He has directed and arranged many shows for theaters in New York City as well as around the country. As an educator, Michael works with youth theater programs, and teaching workshops. Tickets for this special Michael Berkeley performance are only $20.00 and can be purchased at the Information Table  at the February Patchworks, or by calling Peggy at 518-989-6491.

On February 20th at the Lovers of Learning event this month, members of a local book club will meet to discuss the book 1776, by David McCullough. Whether or not you have ever been in a book club, you are invited to attend and join in the discussion of this book in preparation for our Patriots' Day Celebration in April.
