White Clover Sheep Farm will host the 2011 Annual Sheep Herding Trial Saturday, Oct. 15 from 9 a.m. to about 3 p.m.
White Clover farm is located at 683 Bagley Road, Rushville.
German Shepherd dogs will be tending more than 200 sheep in the competition, which will be judged by SV herding judge Manfred Voigt.
According to Ulf Kintzel, the owner of White Clover Farm and organizer of the event, the trial resembles a shepherd’s day — starting with exiting the pen, then moving the sheep on a narrow road to the graze, tending the sheep in unfenced open fields, moving the flock over a bridge, past a moving car back to the night pen. Admission is free, spectators are welcome.
A program as well as food and drinks will be available.
