With the busy morning and dismissal times, please watch for youngsters in the parking lots darting between cars, headed across intersections and simply making their way around the neighborhood. Please keep in mind the school speed zones on the Main Street campus as well as the Middle School on Clara Barton Street. Slower traffic means more time to check for kids as well as stop-and-go traffic. As always continue to keep an eye out for school buses dropping off and picking up students.
If you haven’t already done so, get to the K-12 Art Show today at the high school open all day until 3 p.m. and then again from 6 to 8 p.m. There are senior displays, photography displays and work from all grade levels. Also today, the Middle School chorus concert is at 7 p.m. at the Middle School auditorium. These students have worked so hard throughout the year improving their skills and preparing for their performances. There is nothing better than to look out and see the auditorium filled with people, listening their music.
ALL FAMILIES ARE REMINDED:  MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND HAS BEEN EXTENDED TO INCLUDE FRIDAY, MAY 28.
There is, as always, no school Monday, Memorial Day, May 31. Check with your local communities for parade and Memorial Day commemorations. This holiday can be a wonderful learning opportunity for students and help to build a sense of strong citizenship and responsibility.
Wednesday, May 2 brings with it the sixth grade medieval festival, a great time of learning for these students. If you should see kings, lords and ladies strolling about the middle school, don’t be surprised. Wednesday, May 2 is also the Elementary Chorus Concert – also a spring  highlight. Come and hear these incredibly talented kids perform.
Seniors are off on their trip to Lake George and Lake Placid. Most everyone can recall a similar experience as they neared graduation. Students will leave on Friday, June 4 and return on Sunday, June 6. They have some great activities and adventures planned so chat with a senior when they return and see what their experience was like.
Also,  Saturday, May 5 is the annual Middle School Semi-Formal put on by the Middle School PTO in gym for middle students. If you have any questions about the event, contact the office.
