  • Coach Gerald “Pete” Goho has plenty to be pleased with over his previous three years as Keshequa girls’ varsity soccer coach. The team has a 45-10-7 mark over that time and the Indians are coming off of a campaign which found them falling to the eventual New York State Champions from Marion. In 2010 the Lady Indians were 15-4-2 overall and took the Livingston County Division III top spot with a mark of 8-1-1.
Now that fall 2011 is rolling around, Goho still has a big smile on his face as the Lady Indians return 10 of the 11 starters from a year ago.
Among the key returners is LCAA Division III Player of the Year and senior forward Gabrielle DiAngelo with 21 goals and 14 assists last year and a career record of 34 goals and 24 assists. She was decorated as First Team Class C All-State. She will be joined by junior defender Kristen Jackson, another LCAA Division III All-Star and junior midfielder Alex Flint with 17 career goals and 18 assists. Flint returns to the field after sitting out the 2010 season with an ACL injury. Other returners include sophomore forward Shannon Gordinier with 7 goals and 5 assists, another Division III All-Star, and sophomore forward Haley Russell with 13 goals and 6 assists.
Goho’s top new faces include sophomore forward Megan Moran and sophomore goalkeeper Kate Forrester.
“We’ve worked hard in the off season and are looking to challenge again in both Division III and in Class C,” Goho said. “With such key players returning, we look to have a solid year again and contend for another Division III title and make a run in the sectionals.”
