Dansville Mustangs indoor track and field garnered a number of top-10 finishes along with one Sectional Championship at the recent Sectionals at RIT on Thursday.

Dansville Mustangs indoor track and field garnered a number of top-10 finishes along with one Sectional Championship at the recent Sectionals at RIT on Thursday.


Coach Eileen McMaster reported that the Mustangs claimed one sectional title as Phil Longo won the high jump in Class C. Longo’s success didn’t stop there as he also took a second in the triple jump and placed fourth in the 55-meter dash. Danielle Potter also had a successful night as she fiished second on the night in the triple jump. Other Dansville stand-outs in the Sectional Championships included Tim Coburn, seventh, throwing more than 40 feet. Tim McGowan ran a couple of strong races and wound up placing fourth in the 3,200-meter run. Abby Rapchick and Leah Wise tied for fifth in the high jump. Racewalkers Heather Fox, Stephanie McMahon and Kailey Boor finished 10th, 11th and 12th, respectively.


Danielle Potter and Phillip Longo compete at the State Qualifiers Saturday at RIT.
