Krista S. Kiblin was convicted of criminally negligent homicide in Livingston County Court Tuesday.


Judge Robert Wiggins ordered Kiblin held without bail and she was taken into custody immediately, despite protest from her attorney, Public Defender Marcea Clark Tetamore.


Kiblin, 20, of Nunda caused the death of Joseph P. “Jo-Jo” Garcia, 18, of Arkport.

Kiblin, 20, of Nunda caused the death of Joseph P. “Jo-Jo” Garcia, 18, of Arkport. According to the indictment, the couple was involved in a domestic altercation on July 2, 2010 when Kiblin stabbed Garcia in the chest with a pair of cosmetic scissors.

Wiggins scheduled sentencing for 9 a.m. May 17.

Kiblin faces a maximum sentence of 1 1/3 to four years in prison.
