The grand finale of the finger Lakes Chamber Music Festival's 10th season takes place at 7:30 p.m. on August 4 at the Penn Yan Academy, 305 Court St., Penn Yan.
The program will include Igor Stravinsky’s, “A Soldier’s Tale” (L’histoire du Soldat) with the R.O. Blechman animated film and “The Sitwell – Walton- Facade.”
Stravinsky’s “A Soldier’s Tale” is a 1918 theatrical work; the post-World-War I story of a young soldier, his violin, and the devil in a modern world. The soldier, returning home from the war, sells his beloved violin (which contains his soul) to a stranger in exchange for riches. The stranger turns out to be the devil.
