In September 2013 the Albany Institute will open an exciting new exhibit: GE Presents: The Mystery of the Albany Mummies. School-age children through adults are invited to the library on Friday, May 18th at 4 pm for a visual presentation about the world in which mummies lived and worked 3,000 years ago. The mummies and parts of their coffins have been on continuous view for more than 100 years.  This exhibit will bring ancient Egyptian objects to Albany from collections around the world.  Come hear staff from the Albany Institute discuss these fascinating ancient artifacts.

Share your favorite book titles and meet fellow bibliophiles on Monday, May 21st at 6 pm. Enjoy giving and receiving book recommendations so you can formulate your summer reading list.

Come to the library on Wednesday, May 23rd at 6 pm to meet a professional tattoo artist who will teach you everything you want to know about henna, a beautiful art form. Register at the circulation desk or call 246-4317.  All are welcome to this free presentation.

All are welcome to join the discussion group on Wednesday, May 30th at 6:30 pm. The reading selection is “Between Shades of Grey” by Ruta Sepetys. This story of a family pulled from Lithuania and sent to Siberia in 1941 is based on the author’s family.

Support the Friends of the Saugerties Public Library while having a fun time at the Library Fair.  Purchase books, CDs, DVDs, plants, refreshments and more.  Listen to great music, hear local authors read, enjoy children’s activities and say hello to your neighbors.  $1 admission for adults, children are free.  See you at the Kiwanis Ice Arena on Washington Avenue on June 2nd from 9 am to 2 pm.
