  • While many locals often forget about the relatively small nut butter operation in Nunda, Once Again Nut Butter has gotten national acclaim from Men’s Health Magazine and the Ion Network.
Both have hailed Once Again as the best in the world for two different reasons.
Men’s Health awarded Once Again’s American Classic Creamy Peanut Butter as the best peanut butter in its latest nutrition awards.
The award was unsolicited, Once Again communications manager Gael Orr said.
“We didn’t even give them a jar of peanut butter.”
When asked why Once Again won this award, Orr said, “I think we’re on their radar because we’re an organic nut butter company.”
Orr said that like the Men’s Health award, the company having been selected to be featured on the Ion Network’s “World’s Greatest” TV show was also unsolicited.
Orr said they were selected based on being a healthy-conscious company that also believes in helping to make the world a better place.
Once Again develops and supports domestic and international fair trade; educational, medical and employment programs with suppliers in Nicaragua; and annually donates nut butters  to impoverished Americans, disaster victims, as well as makes financial donations to local programs.
Once Again will be donating nut butters to Japan’s food shelters to help relieve tsunami victims.
Due to high demand aboard the USS Abraham, the company recently donated cases of sunflower butter to  sailors there.
“World’s Greatest” is planning on filming in the Once Again facility next month.
Once Again is marking its 35th anniversary this year, and held a celebration at the Natural Products Expo West trade show in Anaheim, Calif., two weeks ago.
Orr said the company is planning to add to its list of products within the next few months and is looking for local organic sunflower growers to supply  its sunflower butter.
