Dansville All Sports Booster Club and the Wall of Fame Committee are pleased to announce the Class of 2010-11 inductees. This year’s honorees are Valerie Shafer Cairns, Brittany Chamberlin Martin, Kent Koch, Kurt Koch, Jeanne Wise Smith as athletes and James “Doc” Conway as a special contributor. This year’s induction dinner and ceremony will be held on Saturday, March 5, 2011, at the Dansville Moose Club. Additional information about ticket purchase will be released at a later date.

Modified programs


Modified boys basketball and modified cheerleading will begin on Monday, Jan. 3, 2011. Athletes are reminded that they must have their white cards turned in to the middle school nurse prior to practice. White cards require an updated physical. The modified swim season will begin on Monday, Feb. 28, 2011. If you have any questions, please contact Athletic Director Patrick Moses or Middle School Nurse Pamela VanScooter.


Vision Vacations earns second place


Congratulations to the Entrepreneur Vision Vacation students who earned a second place for the highest dollar amount in sales at the Genesee Community College and Accelerate College Enrollment Program Entrepreneurship Trade Fair held at the GCC Batavia campus on Dec. 9. The district would like to thank the Hober Tree Farm and the Hober family for the beautiful pine wreath and garland adorning the Mustang. Dansville is certainly decked out for the season.


Other upcoming events


High school 15-week progress reports for students’ academics will be released on Friday, Dec. 17. The high school PTO will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 21, in the high school library conference room. High school students will enjoy a winter concert assembly on Thursday, Dec. 23.


Happy Holidays and Joyous New Year! There will be no Mane Events next week as the school breaks for winter recess. The next column will appear on Dec. 30 in preparation for the return of students to regular classes.
