  • NOCO Express, a Tonowanda-based family-owned and operated gasoline convenience store chain, celebrated the grand opening of its newest location Friday in the village of Wayland on state Route 63, formerly the Acorn Markets.
NOCO and Subway employees and management, plus Wayland Trustee Madeline Wolfanger and Deputy Mayor Renee Fleishman was on hand to celebrate the grand opening. Fleishman was given the honor of cutting the ribbon.
The changeover retained the Acorn employees and the Subway restaurant. It also included a remodel of the 3,000-square-foot store and rebranded the fuel to NOCO. The celebration also included an up-close view of the 2002 Pontiac Firebird NOCO racecar and giveaways. Noco will be celebrating 80 years in business in 2013.
