Evelyn G. Van Scooter, 71, passed away peacefully, Monday, Jan. 24, 2011, at her home in Springwater.

Evelyn G. Van Scooter, 71, passed away peacefully, Monday, Jan. 24, 2011, at her home in Springwater.


Evelyn was born Dec. 22, 1939, in Dansville, a daughter of Harland & Helen (Holbrook) Presler.  She married John R. Van Scooter on June 10, 1961; he survives. She was employed at Noyes Memorial Hospital in Dansville for more than 50 years. In addition to her parents, she was also predeceased by a son, John Van Scooter; a granddaughter, Amy Ann Van Scooter; a sister, Elizabeth Struble; and a brother, Harold Presler.


Evelyn enjoyed, knitting, crocheting, playing on her computer, putting puzzles together and having a green thumb; she loved plants.


She is survived by her husband, John R. Van Scooter; her children, Dawn Van Scooter (Gary Barner), Shelly (Timothy) Thomas and Thomas Van Scooter (Rachel Braziel); her daughter-in-law, Mary Ann Van Scooter; her grandchildren, Jennifer Boggs, Kristina Titus, Richard Stenzel, Terry Stenzel, Linda Ann Van Scooter, Thomas Van Scooter, Joseph Van Scooter, Jason Thomas, Geoffrey Thomas, Kassie Braziel, Damian Enslow, Austa Van Scooter, Zeke Marble and Whitney Van Scooter; her great-grandchildren, Mikhail Boggs, Daemon Boggs, Camron Stenzel, Joshua Legg, Jonathan Stenzel, Lillian Stenzel, Aurora Barron, Alex Torres, Ava Leigh Thomas, Jaiden Braziel and Kyle Enslow; her brothers and sisters, Milton Presler, Mary Ann Toland, Kenneth Presler, Barbara (Ralph) Barnhart, Margaret Arnold, Jerry Lou Presler (Steve Leyland) and Gerald (Char) Presler; brother-in-law, Ray Struble; many nieces, nephews and cousins.
