Saugerties, NY — Patrick Carlin, brother of legendary comedian George Carlin, will read from his comedic work-in-progress at the Inquiring Mind bookstore café in Saugerties on June 13th at 7 PM. Author of the novel Highway 23, the Unrepentant, Carlin is a humorist and street philosopher who regularly appears on the WDST radio show Woodstock Roundtable.
The evening’s theme is "Laffs, Zingers, and Boffo One-Liners," part of the monthly reading series sponsored by the Glaring Omissions, Hudson Valley’s longest-running writing group. In addition to Carlin, other guests include Phoenicia poet and essayist Sparrow (a regular contributor to The Sun Magazine), who will be reading from his extended series, "First Lines of Novels," and Howard Massey (author of the Behind The Glass series and co-author of Beatles engineer Geoff Emerick's critically acclaimed memoir, Here, There and Everywhere), who will be reading from his novel-in-progress, Stand-Up.
