Come, enjoy the sights and essence of Mohonk’s gardens while gaining insight into how they are created and maintained at this years Mohonk Garden Tour and Luncheon hosted by Cornell Cooperative Extension of Ulster County’s Master Gardener Program.
Garden enthusiasts will be guided on a two-hour walking tour of Mohonk’s formal flower gardens, annual and perennial beds, and magnificent greenhouse on Thursday, June 28 at the Mohonk Mountain House located at 1000 Mountain Rest Road in New Paltz, NY. The tours are guided by a member of Mohonk’s Landscape and Garden Staff.
Tours will begin between 10:00am and 10:30am followed by a buffet style lunch served at 12:00 noon in the West Dining Room. This years featured presentation, “The Eccentric Garden:  The Wonder of the Personal” with guest speaker, David Chinery will follow lunch.
The most interesting gardens are those that reflect the personality of their owners or creators. Chinery’s presentation will examine how eccentric or personal gardens exhibit their charms in at least one of five different ways, using digital as well as film images taken during the author’s travels.
David Chinery is a Cornell Cooperative Extension Educator with Rensselaer County who serves as the horticulturist and Master Gardener coordinator. He earned a B.S. degree in Plant Science from Cook College, Rutgers University, and a M.S. degree in Landscape Horticulture from The Ohio State University.

If you cannot make it please send someone in your place. Participants should plan on arriving early as traffic can back up at the gate. Valet parking is available at the Mountain House.
