  • A man who recently walked away from a prison work detail in Pennsylvania was apprehended Tuesday in Dansville.
According to state police, Wayland-based troopers on patrol located a stolen vehicle Tuesday on Interstate 390. An unidentified person had reported it stolen by 22-year-old Jeffrey Blair, who recently walked away from a Tioga County, Pa., prison work detail, police said.
Troopers stopped the vehicle after it pulled into the Dansville Village Mart Sunoco. Blair was found in the passenger seat of the vehicle and was taken into custody.
The driver of the vehicle, 19-year-old Britian L. Loyd of Elmira, was taken into custody inside the store.
Both men were allegedly in possession of crack cocaine when they were apprehended.
Blair was ordered held without bail as a fugitive from justice. He was also charged with third-degree criminal possession of stolen property and fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.
Loyd was jailed on $5,000 cash bail. He was charged with fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and driving without a license.
Police did not say why Blair had been incarcerated at the time he escaped.
The Dansville Police Department assisted troopers at the scene of the apprehension.
