Friday, August 24  & Saturday, August 25  at 8 pm (Rain date: Sunday, August 26) Tina Chorvas Waterfront Park, East Bridge St.
Saugerties, NY

The Puppet Suite is a special theatrical event created each year by Arm-of-the-Sea for its hometown. Presented at Tina Chorvas Waterfront Park on the Esopus Creek, the Suite fuses visual enchantment with live music and features larger casts than Arm-of-the-Sea's touring shows. This year’s production, entitled UNDER MILL WHEELS, is a series of tales from the early days of Saugerties. The show unfolds through the recollections and revelations of long-time Saugerties residents Connie & Madeline Lynch, original proprietors of Lynch’s Marina. At the center of the drama are Henry Barclay’s 1825 dam and water-powered mills on the Esopus Creek, and the workers who labored in them. This production features Arm-of-the-Sea company members together with volunteer performers from the community.

UNDER MILL WHEELS is part of Arm-of-the-Sea’s  Stories From Here project, a community arts residency in Saugerties which seeks to creatively involve residents in local history and culture. All proceeds from this year’s Suite will benefit the Stories From Here project.
Admission is $10 for adults, $5 for children and $25 for a family of four. Tickets are available at the park entrance on the evening of the event.
Audience members are encouraged to arrive early and bring lawn seating. Tina Chorvas Waterfront Park is located on East Bridge Street, near the marinas.
If one of the evenings is rained out, the performance will be rescheduled for Sunday evening, August 26.
