  • The Livingston Conference wrestling finals took place on Saturday at Keshequa High School in Nunda with 15 teams converging on the mats.
    From the team standpoint, Warsaw placed first at 235.5, Letchworth second at 123 and Geneseo third at 110.
    Other local teams saw Wayland-Cohocton gain a sixth with 86 points, Dansville seventh at 81.5 and Keshequa ninth at 69.
    Geneseo’s Devon Rodriguez was given the Outstanding Wrestler Award.
    Local finishers saw Wayland-Cohocton’s Tyler Hamsher win the County Title, 11-6, in the 99-poind class.
    Keshequa’s Aaron Bennett won the 126-pound class with a 6-0 decision.
    Other locals who finished second in the tournament in their respective weight classes were Gunnar Maggio, Dansville, 113 pounds; Jordan Rizzieri, Way-Co, 132; Zac Todd, Keshequa, 160; Levi Wormuth, Way-Co, 182; and Anthony Cruz, Dansville, 285.
    Cody Schuster, Dansville, 120, won in the consolation round on a pin at 2:16. Wayland-Cohocton’s Mason Hamilton, 120, placed fourth along with Brett Sawdey, 145.
    In the fifth- and sixth-place round other winners were Josh Bickle, Dansville, 132, pin at 1:24; Austin Prince, Keshequa, major decision, 14-2; Brody Wood, Keshequa, 220, forfeit. Zach Wagner, 170, placed sixth.
    The LCAA Division I team trophy was presented to the Dansville Mustangs while other individuals recognized included Cody Schuster, Dansville; and Levi Wormuth, Way-Co, who each earned the LCAA Senior Scholarship Awards.
