It’s amazing the little odds and ends you learn when you’re simply surfing (in February) around and come across little details.

I found this information out in that manner and wish to convey congratulations to a trio of local girls high school basketball coaches who have been recently named Coach of the Year in their respective sectional classifications.

Congratulations are in order for Wayland-Cohocton’s John Crossett who received the nod for class BB as the Lady Golden Eagles earned the No. 2 seed with a mark of 13-5 for the season.

Also Keshequa’s Pete Piraino, whose Indians are the top seed in Class C with a record of 17-1 on the season.

Finally congrats to Canaseraga’s Les York whose green and white Indians are the No. 1 seed in class D as they finished the season at 15-3.

These honors are truly a testament of the hard work and dedication these gentlemen have put in down through the years, let alone this season.
