The Wayland-Cohocton boys tasted defeat for the first time Friday night as the Rams came away with a 62-48 verdict.

“I saw us do some things defensively that I’ve never seen us do in the past,” Way-Co Coach Bob Skoczylas said. “That wasn’t a good thing seing that in our previous three victories we managed to hold our opponents way down.”

The Eagles mustered only six points in the opening quarter and trailed by five. Both teams started to find the range in the second as the homestanding Rams took a slim 23-20 lead. Way-Co started quickly in the third and actually had taken the lead by a point. But a moment later, an ill-advised pass was picked off by the Rams and converted on the other end to jump-start a 24-14 Bath rally and the final win.
