Seventh graders had the weather on their side for Civil War Day at Victory Park. Students participated in a number of learning stations acclimating themselves with Civil War–era life. Re-enactors helped to make the day a success with artifacts and a vast array of knowledge. Groups earned Civil War “cash” throughout the day to see which set of students had gained the most knowledge and the largest set of skills from the experience.

The fifth and sixth grade bands and choruses will perform on Thursday, May 31 at 7 p.m. in the auditorium.

More testing: The New York State written science test for fourth and eighth graders is scheduled for Monday, June 4.

There is a Grad Bash meeting at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, June 6 in the Middle School Library.

The High School Honors Recognition will be held on June 6 and the Class of 2012 Scholarship and Awards Ceremony will be held on June 7 at 7 p.m. in the auditorium.

Don’t miss the Cohocton Book Fair beginning on Friday, June 1 and wrapping up on June 11. This is a great way to get books are a reasonable price with proceeds benefiting the school libraries, typically with additional book purchases.
