  • The Keshequa girls softball team showed why they were the No. 1 seed in Class C-3 on Friday at the “Indians Reservation” as they dismissed eighth seeded Dundee by a 15-0 final in Sectional play in Nunda.

  • The Keshequa girls softball team showed why they were the No. 1 seed in Class C-3 on Friday at the “Indians Reservation” as they dismissed eighth seeded Dundee by a 15-0 final in Sectional play in Nunda. A seven-run explosion in the fourth and five more in the fifth sealed the fate of the Scotswomen on the diamond as the Indians moved on to the semifinals on Tuesday, May 28, against fourth seeded Red Jacket who tripped York.
    In Friday's quarterfinal match-up coach Martha Blair's club saw Alex Flint go the distance to get the shutout win striking out 11 and yielded only two hits in the game, both to Megan Lyan. For the hot-hitting Indians, Alex Flint aided her own cause with a 2-3 day with an RBI and scored two runs. Other offensive contributors for Keshequa included Kristen Jackson’s 3-4 with two doubles and drove in four  runs; Ariel Wood 3-3. Haley Russell scored a pair of runs and drove one in; Tessa Gordinier scored three runs and knocked in a run; Gabe Mehlenbacher drove in a run and scored one; Kate Forrester had a hit and drove in a run. Grace Mehlenbacher 1-2 with an RBI; Selena Erwin’s two-run single ended it in the bottom of the fifth in favor of the orange and black.
