Frances G. Kurtz, 83, passed away peacefully Saturday, Oct. 23, 2010 at the Livingston County Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation in Mt. Morris.

Frances G. Kurtz, 83, passed away peacefully Saturday, Oct. 23, 2010 at the Livingston County Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation in Mt. Morris.


Frances was born Aug. 9,1927, in Rochester, a daughter of Glenn and Lola (Crouse) Graves. She was predeceased by her husband Elmer G. Kurte on Jan. 29, 2004. Frances was formerly employed at Blum Shoe Factory in Dansville, Argenteri Bros. Dry Cleaning in Hornell and for Marion Rohr's Garments.


In addition to her parents and husband, Frances was also predeceased by her step-father, Kenneth R. Conley; her sisters, Dorothy Fitch, Thelma Phelps and Helen Sinack as well as her half-brother, Ken Contey.


Frances was a member of the Burns Community Church; where she accepted her Lord and Savior in 1974.


Frances enjoyed Needle Point and taking trips to Pennsylvania, but most of alt she loved taking care of her granddaughters, Beatrice and Lean.


Frances is survived by her daughter, Darlene A. (Larry) Rhoads of Springwater; her son, Raymond G. (Sharon) Kurtz of Portsmouth, Va.; five grandchildren, Beatrice A. Rhoads, Leah May Rhoads, Christina L. Kurtz, Ashley Kurtz and Victoria Kurtz; two step-grandchildren, Caroline M. (Rhoads) Speer and Warren Rhoads; two brothers, Carl Graves and Paul Graves; a half-brother, Bob Conley; three step-great-grandchildren; three step-great-great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and cousins.


Friends may call 1-3 p.m. Wednesday at the Walter E. Baird and Sons Funeral Home, 300 West Naples St., Wayland, where funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery, S. Dansville.
