The high school has started giving Eagle Shout Outs to students as recognition for a broad range of activities. This is an opportunity for teachers and staff to salute a student who has shown improvement, done an outstanding job, had a great day or any other recognizable effort. They are generated on an ongoing basis. The Shout Outs are displayed on the High School Lobby with the student’s photo. As of next week, the will also be listed on the school website. It is a great way to acknowledge kids’ efforts and to encourage others through positive reinforcement.

It is hard to imagine that the end of the first 10 weeks is just around the corner. This is a significant milestone for students. Elementary conferences will be 12:30-8 p.m. Nov. 10 and 3:30-8 p.m. Nov. 17. Middle School conferences will be 12:30-8 p.m. Nov 10 and 3:30-8 p.m. Nov. 18.

Please note, students will be dismissed at 11:30 a.m. on Nov. 10. If you haven’t been contacted by a teacher and would like a conference, please call the office for your child’s school and they will assist you. The connections between school and home can make a substantial difference in the success of a student.

Junior prom is Saturday, Nov. 6. Tickets are available for purchase for students. This is a wonderful time for students as they maneuver through these rites of passage and can be a most exciting experience. Please review with your children any expectations for their behavior you may have. Enjoy the experience and celebrate this wonderful time in their lives.

Reminder, don’t miss daylight savings time on Nov. 7. Turn those clocks back on Saturday night. There is no school on Thursday, Nov. 11, as the school pauses to recognize Veterans Day.
